The ASDF is comprised of retired and reserve military personnel and select men and women aged 17 to 70 who volunteer their time and talents in service to their state and communities. After leadership courses in numerous areas such as CPR, Traffic Control, and Community Emergency Response Training, ASDF members provide a valuable, professional support system when serving as a back up to the National Guard or to state and local Emergency Management in times of natural and man-made disasters such as the recent tornado search and rescue missions in Lawrence County.
